During a break in my real estate continuing education class the other day, I was shocked when my Broker, Paul Dizmang, got smacked upside the head by a colleague while he was returning phone calls to clients. Although I found it a tiny bit funny, I still couldn’t believe the audacity this other REALTOR had. I’m sure he was trying to be funny and I guess it kind of was. But deep down, I really thought it was rude.

I hate ice storms. The thing is, this one caught us by surprise over last year’s big ice storm. Luckily we didn’t lose power, but we lost several tree limbs. Ty and I live on 6 acres just outside the city and we have TONS of trees. Well, they came crashing down with 2” of ice.

Switching banks sucks. But so does Bancorp South.

It is really sad that a great bank here in Springfield, MO like “The Bank” (ultimately The Signature Bank) had to merge with such a worthless company like Bancorp South. First and foremost…they don’t have real time online banking status. WTF? Are we back in 1999? Non real-time banking is not good for a property management company with over 125 mortgage payments, 600 Tenants with possible NSF checks, and an average of $100K deposited monthly.

So, all we can say to Bancorp South and their nickel-and-dime-you-to-death fees, sucky customer service and worthless out-of-date online banking system is BYE-BYE-BYE!!

Now Dizmang Properties is on to bigger and better things with a new bank. And this goes out as a warning to anyone out there listening to me rant…..Run far, far away from Bancorp South they are no good!!

It has just been one of those days….a sleepy Sunday. I haven’t done much and I should have been. I should have been doing Christmas shopping, I should have been cleaning house and grocery shopping for all of the family that is coming in this weekend. I should have been finishing all the crap I have to do for work, I should have been going over Jake’s Christmas play lines with him that he has to know for tomorrow. I should have been going over things for tomorrow’s long Transaction Desk Training class. I should have been working on our Christmas cards that have yet to go out.

I should quit worrying so much about the “undone” things and I should be grateful that I got to take a 4 hour nap this afternoon! Woo-hoo!

It’s funny what you find amusing. Yes, I fought the crowds at the mall to do some quick Christmas shopping on Saturday and the sight of this dancing Santa made me smile. Therefore I lost all frustration with the crowds. So if all of the Christmas spirit is getting to you, watch this video, you’ll relax a little.

Is "Hell" A Bad Word?

This morning I took my 1st grade son into his class to apologize to his teacher for saying the word “hell” with a bunch of his friends during lunch yesterday. Jake’s excuse in all of this to me & Ty was “I didn’t know it was a bad word”. Is it a bad word? Preachers say it. It’s on TV all of the time. It’s a pretty common word of sorts. OK, so maybe it is not appropriate to be thrown around at the first grade lunch table, nor am I condoning my son’s behavior. But in my mind I think, hey, at least he didn’t say “WTF”! LOL.

This video was taken during the break taken at the Transaction Desk training this morning. Paul and I have been doing these TD Training modules twice a week at The Board of REALTORS. Sometimes it can seem a little overwhelming, but overall I am enjoying it. I’m certainly learning a lot.

As I am frying up the rest of the bacon that was in the refrigerator (seriously…the pre-cooked-throw-it-in-the-microwave bacon is so much easier than frying it, but I had no choice) I couldn’t help but think about the bacon. Maybe it’s just the season, and maybe it’s me. But why is it that I just can’t seem to be bringing it home even though I am paid well at my job? Ty and I both make decent money and work really hard in our jobs…so why is it that we’re makin’ bacon, just not bringing it home?
